The Perinatal Linkage to Care Program was created by CompDrug to better serve pregnant people who are using substances in Franklin County.
A perinatal outreach coordinator works with pregnant and postpartum people in the community to help them get connected to addiction treatment, prenatal care, support, and other resources.
Treatment options are available for most substances including opiates, alcohol, cocaine, methamphetamines, marijuana, and polysubstance (multiple substances).
To make a referral, call or text 614-981-8524 Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 am- 4:00 pm.
You can also contact Ashley Cebula at perinatal@compdrug.org. Referrals made on weekends and after hours will be processed the following business day.
Anyone can make a referral!
This program is community-based and is focused on three pillars:
The coordinator conducts weekly check-ins with clients, and will often travel to client’s communities, meeting them in places that are comfortable or convenient for them. Treatment referrals are determined by the needs of the individual and can include outpatient, residential, or inpatient care. Linkages are also made to recovery housing and other support programs.
This program prides itself in providing trauma-informed and person-centered care. Clients do not have to be ready for treatment or disclose substance use at the time of the referral.
The Perinatal Linkage to Care Program has seen remarkable success. In its first year, the program has:
- Served over 100 clients
- Had successful contact with 85% of referrals
- Referred 36% of clients to SUD or mental health treatment.
- Referred 54% of clients to other resources including barriers to treatment, such as transportation and housing issues.
